Italian Renaissance Walnut Trestle Table, composed of antique elements, rectangular top with chip-carved edge and resting on a trestle base with anthemion carved urn-form ends and a shaped stretcher, on a shaped base, ht. 33, lg. 69 1/2, dp. 28 1/2 in. Property sold for the benefit of the Brooklyn Museum. Top with large area of small narrow discolored dents; white water stain at one end and a 20 inch shrinkage crack to left side of top; moderate worming; scuffing to edges; trestle base with heavy worming causing losses to upper areas of supports (some with fill-in repairs) and exposed worming; wear to base; age typical additional defects.
