American Renaissance Revival Walnut and Italian Scagliola-topped Library Table, c. 1865-75, likely New York, attributed to Thomas Brooks, octagonal top with inset of lovebirds perched on a flowering potted tree, the base with turned and gadrooned stem on four legs carved with spherules and C-scrolls, on casters, ht. 29, wd. 30 in. Stone surface free of cracks or splits, some natural discoloration to white ground with one quarter-sized discoloration lower left; one piece of molding lifting to top; three legs with shrinkage cracks near post joints with possible repair/reglueing; table lists slightly to left.
