Continental Painted Burlwood Necessaire Box, 19th century, possibly painted by the female artist Hirsch, tapered rectangular with rounded sides, painted to lid with a scene of 18th century courting couples in a garden, base with musical instruments, interior fitted with silver etui, puller, and scissors, lg. 4 3/4 in. scissors missing most of one handle. lacking thimble. minor surface scratching and age/usage wear.
