Scottish Georgian Inlaid Mahogany Bowfronted Stage-top Sideboard, c. 1810, top with concave sides and bowfronted center and inlaid with a wide band of fruitwood and harewood foliage above a conforming case fitted with one shallow and two deep drawers, each with oval inlay, on circular, reeded and tapered legs, ht. 39, wd. 84, dp. 30 in. Property sold for the benefit of the Brooklyn Museum. Shrinkage cracks along the "stage-top"; left edge of top missing an inch of veneer, right edge missing approx 8 inches of veneer; bottle door on right side altered and replaced (old pieces still present; slightly mildewed; 3 1/2 inches of missing veneer around curved stiles; large shrinkage area to joint near left side of bowed drawer; shrinkage and age typical defects, cracks, scuffs, etc.
