Portrait Miniature of a Gentleman, early 20th century, likely painted on ivorine, round format, depicting an elegant late 18th century gentleman in wig and red coat, possibly a young Thomas Jefferson, signed "Charler," in faux tortoiseshell surround inlaid to reverse with small mixed metal flowers, sight dia. 2 1/2, surround dia. 3 1/4 in. chips to inner edge of glass over image. light rubbing to black paint of background of image. Age wear. light craquelure to faux tortoiseshell.
