British Portrait Miniature on Ivory of a Boy with a Sword, mid 19th century, rectangular, signed indistinctly l. r., possibly I.W. Grul, depicting a curly, blonde-haired boy in a red tartan dress, proudly bolding up a short basket-hilted sabre, 3 7/8 x 3 in. in a modern gilt metal picture frame. ivory with very slight concave curve. paper applied to back. some wear and losses to edges, the largest at upper right (extending approx. 1/8" into image area).
