Continental Carved Ivory Figure of an Archbishop, late 19th century, the standing figure wearing mitre and holding a staff, mounted with small faceted multicolored collet-set stones and small painted beads, his robe opening at two doors with a triptych scene of Christ on the cross and mourning angels, on rectangular wood block base, ivory ht. 12 7/8, ht. with wood base 15 1/4 in. scrolled top of staff broken off and reglued (glue has now let go, so this piece is off, but present). three of the small stones/beads missing. three of the hinges with strengthening repairs. age typical lining, the largest to the back of body. pinkie finger of left hand restored.
