Folio, finely bound by Madeleine Gras in morocco with suede onlay wave design down center of upper and lower boards imitating Matisse's lively script, original lithographed wrappers bound in. Limited edition of Matisse's last illustrated book, this being number 317 of 1230 copies signed by the artist on the limitation page. Complete with 54 lithographed plates, including text lithographed from Matisse's handwriting. Offsetting from a number of pages; otherwise a very good copy in a fine binding by Gras.
