Chiswick: C. Whittingham, 1821. 2 vols. 16mo, full green calf stamped with central arabesque cartouche in blind, glit-lettere black leather spine labels, marbled endpapers, custom cloth slipcase. Fore edge paintings of Burns' birthplace (vol. 1) and a harbor at Ayot (vol. 2). John Singer Sargent copy, with his bookplate to front pastedowns. Rear cover starting to detach vol. 1 and other hinges tender; rubbing to boards; spines faded.
