Chinese, 19th century. A famille rose decorated baluster form vase converted to a table lamp with hand painted decoration to one side depicting a still life with vases holding flowering plants, to opposite side with an elaborate figural scene with many men and boys within an interior and circled around an important figure who is framed in front of a landscape, the neck above this scene with four courtly figures holding and observing a scroll and surrounded by clusters of prunus fruit and precious objects, the remaining two sides of the base with many rows of black calligraphic marks, and with two gig facing fu dogs as handles to each side of neck. The lamp to a carved and stained wood stand with five ogee form feet, also with wood cap to vase below brass harp and cinnabar toned wooden figural finial. Overall approximately 33.75", 8.5" diameter of vase. Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
