decorated with two rectangular reserves to each side, one enclosing two standing scholars conversing under pine trees in an outdoor setting, the other written in black enamel with sentences from the poem by Yuan Dynasty poet Weng Sen, and signed possibly all against an underglaze blue ground with floral scrolls with gilt highlights, supported on rectangular feet, the interior and the base glazed turquoise, further raised on a fitted hardwood stand with openworked vine decoration. Height of brush holder 3 1/2 inches.
