American, 20th century. Sterling silver and sand blasted glass oval ice bowl likely after Gorham's Sterling Silver Polar Exploration ice bowl, the oval silver mouth molded with icicles and mounted to each side with naturalistic rocky craig handles hung with icicles, one surmounted with a kneeling hunter with spear, the other a seal, the blown glass body or liner overshot to resemble an ice glacier fitted into a naturalistic molded silver base further hung with icicles and rocky outcrops mounted to each side with a standing polar bear, one with a cub. Ice bucket accompanied with unmarked hammered tongs. Marked to the underside of one handle 'Sterling, GG & JG' with a hammer as well as rim on base for Gia Gogishvili. Approximate height 9.5", width 14.25" (handle to handle), depth 9.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
