Chinese, Xuande Period mark (1426-1435), likely late 19th century. A porcelain stem bowl or cup with cobalt blue underglaze hand painted decoration on white ground, the body exterior with fish swimming in an undersea landscape amid flowers and seaweed, over a lappet band above stem, the stem with chrysanthemum blossoms and meandering sweet pea vines, the bowl basin with central medallion bearing further undersea decoration, the rim with double cobalt bands to interior and exterior. Marked to interior of stem with single line of six calligraphic characters for the Xuande Imperial reign. Overall approximate height 6.625", diameter of top 10.125", diameter of foot 3.25"
