the circular top inlaid with a view of St. Peter's square enclosed by a malachite border, with four additional inlaid medallions joined by floral garlands and depicting the Colosseum, the Forum, the Pantheon and the Temple of Hercules Victor, the outer border with a cobalt band spaced with mask, dove, and swan roundels, raised on an associated giltwood base with a baluster stem ending in three leaf-capped legs. Height 29 1/2 x diameter of top 27 1/2 inches.
