Chinese, late Qing Dynasty (1616-1911). Pair of Chinese hardwood ceremonial chairs, probably Youmu (teak), of square form with scrolled and shaped crestrail over an openwork back centered with a roundel inset with 'dreamstone' marble panel, headed with scrolled opposing foliage, the sides with carved within straight stiles and meander scroll, the rectangular paneled seat over a shaped apron raised on shaped cabriole legs with slightly everted feet. Chairs apparently unmarked. Approximate height 38.62", width 23.15", seat depth 15", seat height 18.15".
