of a pale celadon stone, of squared, baluster form with relief carved C-scrolls at the neck flanked by bird mask handles, the body with a row of five high relief concave tooth flanges organized in a set of three and two, running through the relief carved scrollwork and taotie masks on a cross-hatch incised ground, above the rounded, tapering base and raised on a conforming pedestal foot, further raised on a pierced hardwood stand, fitted and well carved, and with a hardwood case. Height of jade 3 1/8 inches.
