American, first half of 20th century (circa 1915). Sengbusch Self-Closing ink stand in patinated bronze metal. Jar form ink well or stand with exterior decorated in Art Nouveau style scrolled foliates and lattice work. Hinged circular lid opens to reveal interior with manufacturer's information (Sengbusch Self-Closing Inkstand, Milwaukee, Wisconsin) and patent dates. Height 4.4", diameter of bottom 3.25".
