Japanese, late 19th/ early 20th century. A large Imari porcelain charger with blue underglaze decoration on interior white surface of a pair of cranes resting on a tree trunk that juts out over a waterfall, with hilly tree lined landscape below, and rust colored hand painted flowers accenting the tree and cliffside. Blue underglaze and gilt geometric patterning in sky mimic cloud forms, and a band of blue and white underglaze geometric patterning lines rim of charger. Exterior of platter decorated with three mountainous landscape vignettes in blue underglaze. Unmarked. Approximately 18 1/8" diameter.
