depicting a monkey figure in human clothing, the torso, head and center base composed of baroque pearls, the hat of carved mother-of-pearl surmounted by a pearl within filigree work, the neck collet of scalloped and stippled design, the vest, waist piece and pants accented in opaque white, red and blue enamel, one hand holding a cluster of "grapes" composed of seed pearls accented with green enamel leaves, the other hand holding a flower basket composed of a baroque pearl accented with bezel and wire set turquoise, coral, ruby and emerald, the base containing inset lapis lazuli within a gold border, the underside of the base containing an intricately carved mother-of-pearl plaque.
