Elizabeth Lincoln (American, active 1882-1931) for Rookwood Pottery (American, founded 1880), 1920. A tall American Arts & Crafts Period pottery vase, shape 589D, of subtly bulging form with incurvate neck and round mouth, the body matte glazed in tones of red and purple to enhance the subtly reeded surface and organic teardrop forms descending from shoulder. Marked to underside with impressed Rookwood mark over "589 D", "V" for vellum, "XX" for 1920, and with incised "LNL" for Elizabeth Lincoln. Approximate height 12".
