To Tom Burgoyne, Maywood, Illinois, expressing sympathy for the loss of his eyesight: "The fact that the poems you so kindly send me were written, as you say, in total darkness seems to me to give added proof of their sincerity. I shall look forward with pleasure to reading them." Folded in half; soiling at folds and to envelope; envelope marginally chipped.
