Tall 8vo, publisher's rib-grain greyish violet cloth stamped in gilt and blind, marbled edges and endpapers, three illustrated frontispieces and numerous wood-engravings in-text by George Cattermole and Hablot K. Browne ["Phiz"], housed in custom cloth-backed clamshell case with gilt-lettered title to spine. First edition in book form, bound from the original parts. Light edgewear to spines and extremities; inner hinge cracked on vols. 1 and 3; possible repair to hinge on vol. 1 with plate facing p.90 tipped in; intermittent foxing.
