the hinged cover formed and enameled as the bust of a Nubian woman with a diamond necklace, pearl drop earrings and a white turban, the slightly tapered gold body chased with rococo scrolls, shellwork and sprigs of flowers, mounted with a mine-cut diamond thumbpiece, the carnelian seal base carved with a bird crest and the motto "FIDELLE EN ABSESCE. " Length 4 inches.
