Fine and rare stainless steel tonneau-shaped electronic wristwatch with round button chronograph, 12-hour and 30-minute registers, tachometer, day and date and Omega stainless steel bracelet with deployant clasp. Two-body, tonneau, polished and brushed, screw-down case back with embossed “Seamaster” logo, half-hooded lugs. Black and gray with luminous baton indexes, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer minute/fifth second divisions, outermost tachometer scale graduated to 500UPH, apertures for the days of the week and the date. Luminous baton hands. Cal. 1255, diapason tuning fork for swinging element, frequency of 300 Hz. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 44 x 44 mm. Thickness 16 mm. Notes Ref. ST 188.0002 Launched in 1973, this was the first electronic Speedmaster, available with gray or blue dial, or a gold-plated version (Ref. MD 188.0002). While the 5 “Speedsonic” references are sometimes considered a separate line, or part of the Seamaster line, in all the literature they are clearly part of the “Speedmaster” line.
