English, 19th century. English Victorian copper and gilt metal tankard or stein, the lid surmounted with artichoke finial and winged griffin/gryphon (the griffin's mouth no longer connected to the handle) the leafy molded rim mounted with cherubic masks over a copper and gilt mounted body decorated continuously with cartouche and winged herms on a circular molded base. Apparently unmarked. Height 9.75", base diameter 6.5".
