Ilbery, London, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18K gold, quarter repeating watch with varicoloured Jacks and enamelled automaton scene. Double body Consular, the bezels pierced and engraved with interlaced decoration, the polished back engraved with foliage on the border and centred with a rosette. Small white enamel with Breguet numerals. Blued-steel Breguet hands. Enamel dial plate, painted with a Swiss landscape, applied on the foreground with varicoloured gold automaton water wheel and a fisherman by a stream, two cherub Jacks above the dial, strike hours and quarters on two bells. Hinged gilt-brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass threearm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant, the repeating train driving the automata by means of cams and levers. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 56 mm.
