W. Burkasser in Nurnberg, late 18th century. Fine rose wood and printed paper, combined pillar sundial, compass and telescope. Notes Known in France as "Cadrans de Bergers", such sundials were used by the shepherds in thel8th century. A much later edition of such dials were procluced by Henri Robert towards the middle of the 19th century, to be presented to his best clients.
