Attributable to Henry Capt, Geneva, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel, diamond-set harp with music. Finely painted musical trophies on the back of the instrument, blue flinque enamelled side panels with quivers finely chased within navette split-pearl set frames, a rose diamond-set at the end of each rope. Gilt brass, concealed in the sound board and playing at will, with pointed barrel and six stacked vibrating steel blacks. Dim. 69 x 40 mm. Notes Henry Capt In the period this harp was made, Henry Capt and Piguet Meylan were producing such types of musical objects of vertu in Geneva. The musical movement with pin-barrel and stacked steel blades is very much in the style of those produced by Henry Capt.
