Breguet à Paris, No. 30450, Swiss, circa 1830.Very fine and rare 20 ct. gold and enamel 'cabriolet' watch with a special escapement, made for the Turkish market. Outer: three-body, hinged, scalloped edge, entirely painted on enamel, on centre back a map of the Ottoman Empire of the period with Turkish characters, on the outer and the bezel, a translucent red enamel border over engine-turning decorated with flowers painted en grisaille, pendant and bow with champlevé enamel. Inner: four-body, back with finely painted enamel map of Turkey, bezels with flowers on a green ground, gold hinged cuvette, pendant and bow enamelled. 35.1 mm o, gilt brass early bridge calibre, 11 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, plain gold three-arm balance with flat spring.Signed on the cuvette and the dial.Diam. 50 mm.
