Unsigned, Swiss, circa 1830. 18 ct. rose gold, quarter repeating skeletonised watch with concealed erotic automaton, made for the Oriental market. Four-body, polished with reeded band, gilded cuvette with a spring-loaded cover inside revealing an erotic automaton scene with two figures. White enamel ring with Breguet numerals and outer minute ring. Blued-steel Breguet hands. 50 mm o, gilt brass full plate, skeletonised and engraved front plate, fusee and chainh, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, polished steel pierced cock, the automaton runs from a sleeve mounted eccentrically on the second wheel of the repeating tain, repeating on a gong by depressing the pendant.Diam. 54 mm.
