Jaquet-Droz et Leschot, London, circa 1785. Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl-set self-winding pedometer watch with centre seconds and stop feature, made for the Chinese market. Notes Watches for the Chinese market were almost always sold in pairs. The pair to this one belongs to the Musée International d'Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Inv. I-494. and is illustrated on the cover of 'Splendeurs de l'émail', Catherine Cardinal, La Chaux-de-Fonds, 1999.
