Unsigned, probably Flemish, circa 1610. Very fine and rare gilt metal single-hand two-train clock watch. Two-body, oval, domed, plain back, band pierced in a baluster pattern for sound, front cover with small round glazed bezel, small finial at the bottom, short turned pendant, loose ring. Oval, 41 x 48 mm., gilt brass full plate, turned baluster pillars, fusee and gut lie, short four-wheel train, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued-steel balance spring, pinned gilt metal cock pierced with symmetrical foliage, striking from a fixed plain gilded barrel, five-wheel train, blued-steel count wheel on the back plate, striking on an oval bell secured to the back.Dim. 62 x 52 mm.
