Ilbery, London, No. 1061, circa 1800.Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, diamond-set, pair-cased watch with centre seconds and a stop feature, made for the Chinese market. Outer: two-body, the back with applied diamond-set garlands and flowers, and central rosette against an Imperial blue enamel ground over engine-turning, the bezels and pendant decorated in green, red and blue champlevé enamel forming foliate wreath over black enamel. Inner: two-body, bassine, polished, gilt brass dust cap. 44 mm o, hinged, gilt brass full plte, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain for the going train, cylinder escapement, brass escape wheel, overbanking pin directly on the cylinder staff, plain steel three-arm balance, blued-steel balance spring, single-footed gilded cock pierced and engraved with foliage, diamond endstone, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate, stopwatch lever protruding from the bezel.Signed on the movement.Diam. 58 mm.
