Unsigned, Swiss, probably Geneva, circa 1860. Amusing 18 ct. gold and enamel concealed dial form watch in the shape of a padlock with a photograph compartment. Four-body, front cover with applied key-hole over translucent green enamel on a flinqué ground, the gold back with central reserve for a monogram within floral and foliage engraving, gold, hinged cuvette, inside the back cover a glazed frame for a photograph. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute divisions. Blued-steel Breguet hands. 22.5 x 27 mm, heart-shaped, gilt brass bar calibre, 10 jewels, hanging barrel, cylinder escapement, plain gilt three-arm balance, flat balance spring.Dim. 48 x 27 mm.
