Bovet, Fleurier, No. 477 Lot 477. , circa 1830.Very fine and extremely rare symmetrical pair of 18 ct. gold and enamel watches with centre seconds, steel movements, and special escapements, made for the Chinese market, with their original fitted Morocco box. Notes This is an interesting and sophisticated enamelling technique combining champlevé, enamel over 'remoulaillé', and painting on enamel, all covered by a layer of transparent glaze, called flux. It is very rarely used.
