Unsigned, circa 1800. Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel sealing-wax case fitted with a concealed watch with visible diamond-set balance. The tapered case entirely engraved and decorated in black and blue champlevé enamel, with a central painted enamel shield-shaped medallion depicting Cupids, the spring-loaded front lower panel opens to reveal the watch. Rectangular, white enamel with Breguet numerals, at the top, aperture for the visible balance. 10.8 x 24 mm, brass, fixed barrel, cylinder escapement, plain balance with three spiral spokes set with rose-cut diamonds, flat balance spring.Dim. 113 x 21 mm.
