Unsigned, English, circa 1790. Fine gilt metal pair-cased quarter-striking double-train clock watch, centre-seconds and stop feature, made for the Oriental market. Outer two-body, pierced and engraved with foliage, the back with plain central reserve. Inner: two-body, decorated in similar manner. Notes A good example of a relatively early duplex escapement, the invention of which is credited to Pierre Le Roy about 1750.
