$6,900
Patek Philippe & Cie. , No. 80951, made for Tiffany & Co., circa 1890.Very fine and rare, 18K gold, keyless, split-seconds chronograph watch. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives. Notes This is a rare model among Patek Philippe chronographs. When we saw it for the first time, some of us attributed it to Ed. Koehn. The ebouche, of very high quality, with its winged balance cock is very uncharacteristic for Patek Philippe. The case, with its double bezel only serves to confirm this impression. It is only when the dial is removed that the Patek Philippe characteristics come to light: the dialmaker with his initials "PR" often used by Patek Philippe, the "9s" winding/setting syste, and the cap jewel plate finish.
