American School, second half 20th century. "Lily Pads", oil on masonite, signed lower right "J. A. Mitchell". A pair of small vertically oriented paintings depicting a close up view of water holding scattered floating lily pads and white blossoms, the water defined with strokes of blue, purple, and white. Inscribed to verso of one framed "water lilys from pond near studio". Framed approximately 19" x 14", unframed approximately 14" x 9".
