Very fine and rare, rectangular flared, "bombé", 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe buckle. Accompanied by a fitted box, a commemorative booklet, sterling silver medal, a certificate of origin and the "Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres". Two-body, flared, solid, polished and brushed, concave sides, case back engraved "Commemoration 1997 Pagoda", sapphire crystal. Champagne with applied yellow gold Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial. Black oxydized gold "feuille" hands. Cal. 215, stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, freesprung Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 29 x 41 mm. Thickness 10 mm. Notes "Pagoda" The Pagoda series was created in 1997 to mark the inauguration of Patek Philippe’s new watchmaking manufacture in Geneva. The destruction of the tools and dies used in its production ensures that neither the Ref. 5500 or 4900 can ever again be manufactured.
