Fine and rare, center seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel diver's wristwatch with helium escape valve and a stainless steel "Fliplock" Oyster bracelet. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Rolex Singapore. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, helium escape valve, graduated bidirectional revolving black bezel for the decompression times, "Triplock" winding-crown protected by the "crown guard", case back engraved "Comex No. 60". Black with luminous round, triangular and baton indexes, above the 6, the "Comex" logo. Luminous steel "skeleton" hands. Cal. 1520, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Property of a Japanese Collector Notes The COMEX company was instrumental in the field of deep sea exploration and surveying, and was responsible for the enormous advances in the field of saturation diving during the late 1960s and early 1970s. At this time all COMEX divers wore Rolex Submariners, ref. 5513. To this day, COMEX still utilizes both Submariners - for “atmospheric” dives - and Sea-Dwellers - for “saturation” dives.
