“Travel Clock” Cartier, Swiss, case No. 068507. Made circa 1940. Fine and rare, rectangular, leather-covered and chrome, 8-day going travel timepiece with alarm. Leather-clad, cover opening to form the support, hinged chrome inner case. Silver with luminous Arabic numerals, inner minute track. Luminous “skeleton” hands. Rhodium-plated, 15 jewels, 3/4 plate, lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, quick-set button to adjust the alarm. Dial signed Cartier, movement and case signed European Watch & Clock Co. Dim. 5.5 x 8 cm.
