Very fine and unusual, solar-powered and electro-mechanical, gilt brass table clock with applied brass chess pieces. Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe fitted box, the original warranty card, and an archival photograph. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Cylindrical brass with a square pattern representing a chess board, applied brass chess pieces, the solar cells mounted on top of the clock in a circular brass mount with spade pattern, case raised on 3 ribbed feet. Matte silver with applied gilt chapter ring with engraved baton indexes. Gilt “dauphine” hands. Cal. 17-250, electro-mechanic with lithium battery back-up, driving a remontoir train, winding the barrel spring, 29 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Glucydur Gyromax balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, “swan-neck” micrometer regulator. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 22 x 12.5 cm.
