Quarter-Repeating Le Roy & Fils, 211 Regent Street, London, No. 10743. Made circa 1815. Fine, 18K rose gold quarter-repeating pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement. Four-body "Empire", No. 774, mastermark GFF, polished bezel, engine-turned back “a grains d’orge”, engine-turned band. Hinged gold cuvette with apertures for the winding and handsetting. Gold, champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, engine-turned center. Gold Breguet hands. Notes This watch is very heavily influenced by the work of Breguet and uses the English-type ruby cylinder escapement that is very occasionally found in Breguet’s watches
