Flower Bouquet Dimier, Genève, No. 10804. Made for the Chinese market circa 1850. Fine, large, silver gilt and painted on enamel, pearl-set, centerseconds pocket watch with mirror-polished movement, Jacot duplex escapement and fancy balance. Three-body, "Empire", spring-loaded back finely painted on enamel with a flower bouquet, lilac ground, pearl-set bezels, pendant and bow. Gilt-rimmed glazed cuvette. White enamel, large narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions. Blued steel ovoid hands. 52 mm., mirror-polished steel, Chinese caliber, free-standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, three-arm balance with fancy pierced edge set with red glass cabochons, flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed. Diam. 62 mm. Notes Dimier et Cie Recorded as being active around 1835 in the rue Croix d'Or 27, they exported small watches in gilt brass, or gold and enamel, cases, often with a pearl-set floral decor.
