Spring Flowers Swiss, probably Fleurier, No. 3823. Made for the Chinese market circa 1870. Fine, large, gilt and painted on enamel, pearl-set, centerseconds pocket watch with duplex escapement. Three-body, "Empire", spring-loaded back finely painted on enamel with a flower bouquet of roses, peonies and tulips, opaque green ground, pearl-set bezels, pendant and bow. Gilt-rimmed glazed cuvette fixed to the movement ring. White enamel, large narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds divisions. Blued steel ovoid hands. 54 mm., gilt, entirely engraved with foliate scrolls, Chinese caliber, free-standing barrel, duplex escapement, three-arm balance with blued steel wings, flat balance spring, index regulator. Diam. 63 mm.
