Swiss. Made circa 1910. Very fine and rare, 8-day going, silver gilt and enamel desk clock with triple date calendar driven by the movement. Accompanied by a key. Sloping-rectangular, the sides and top decorated with translucent blue enamel over a basket-weave engine-turned ground, the top within a white and dark blue enamel border, sliding base decorated with engine-turning to match the case. Circular, white enamel with radial blue Roman numerals, outer black minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals. Gold Louis XV hands. Calendar dial with gilt mask, apertures for the days of the week, the date and the months. Rectangular plates, frosted gilt, spring barrel, straight-line lever escapement mounted on the back plate, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, geared via the hour wheel to the calendar mechanism below. Length 10 cm., width 5.5 cm., height 3 cm.
