"Jean-Claude Killy" Rolex, "Oyster Chronograph, Anti-Magnetic”, Ref. 6036. Made in the 1950’s. Very fine and rare, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, triple date and a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet. Two-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, inclined bezel. Matte silver with sunken silvered pyramid indexes and luminous dots, outer 1/5th second scale, subsidiary guilloché dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer graduation for the date, apertures for the days of the week and the months. Luminous steel alpha hands. Cal. 72 C, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness 14 mm. Property of the Original Owner Notes Rolex's Antimagnetic chronograph with triple date were produced in few examples from the mid 1940’s to the early 1960’s in 18K yellow or pink gold and in very few examples in stainless steel, with various dial designs and hand shapes and with 4 different references: - In the mid 1940’s: Ref. 4767 - From 1948 to 1951: Ref. 5036 - From 1951 to 1955: Ref 6036, so-called by collectors the "Killy watch" (after international ski champion Jean-Claude Killy, who first became famous in the 1960’s).
