Very fine and rare, square, 18K yellow gold wrist and desk watch with a yellow gold Vacheron Constantin buckle. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, hinged case within square carriage, hooded lugs, flat top crystal. Matte silver with applied yellow gold baton indexes, subsidiary seconds dial. Yellow gold dauphine hands. Cal. K 1001, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, stamped with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 29 x 29 mm. Thickness 9 mm. Notes This wrist and desk watch was based on a patent originally registered by Verger, for a pocket watch. Vacheron Constantin took the basic idea and modernized it, resulting in a timepiece that is extremely practical, particularly for travelers.
