Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. To be sold without reserve Four-body, “bassine et filets”, back finely engraved and filled with black champlevé enamel depicting Hetman Stanislaw Zólkiewski, engine-turned background, reeded band. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel, narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, secured by two small screws. Blued steel Breguet hands. 40 mm.,18’’’, frosted gilt bar caliber, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with flat balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed, case and cuvette numbered. Diam. 45 mm. Notes Stanislaw Zolkiewski (1547-1619) Is one of the most heroic figures in Polish history. An accomplished general, a skilful diplomat, and a patriot, he excelled in all private and public virtues. He wrote an important history of his Muscovite campaigns.
